2026 began in a rather bitter way for one of today's most popular voices. After announcing her marriage this past January 1st and suffering an intense wave of harassment from the most toxic sector of the fandom, the talented voice actress and singer Tomori Kusunoki has finally decided to leave the controversy behind and fully resume her professional activities. The acclaimed seiyuu, world-renowned for bringing the imposing Makima to life in Chainsaw Man (Chainsaw Man), announced her return to the music industry with great fanfare.

An album marking a new beginning

Through her official website, a beautiful promotional image was revealed along with the cover art and full tracklist for her first vinyl record album, titled PRESSED FLOWERS. This very special release, scheduled to go on sale on June 17th as a limited edition, marks the official resumption of her career as a singer-songwriter after just over three months of silence. During this break, the artist had stepped away from the public spotlight to focus on her new family life with her husband, whom she has known since her student days.

Surviving extreme otaku toxicity

It is no secret to anyone in the community that the news of her wedding sparked one of the most unfortunate backlashes of the season. A significant portion of her Japanese followers felt that the actress broke her immaculate idol image, reaching the ridiculous extreme of destroying merchandise of characters she has played, such as the beloved waifu Setsuna Yuki from the Love Live! franchise. Fortunately, the immense support from her true fans managed to overshadow these immature attitudes, proving that her enormous talent carries much more weight than her marital status.

Knowing that the obsession with the purity of stars remains a serious problem affecting the personal lives of actresses in Japan, what do you think about Kusunoki's decision to make a strong comeback with new music after all this controversy?
