Gido Amagakure launched Yurayura Q in Hakusensha's The Hana to Yume Fantasy magazine back in October 2019. The series is approaching its grand finale, set for July 27, with the fifth compiled volume having shipped on January 20. For those keeping track at home, that's roughly six years of storytelling building toward this moment.

Gido Amagakure's Track Record

This isn't Amagakure's first rodeo when it comes to adapting work into anime. The creator previously brought us Sweetness & Lightning (Amaama to Inazuma), a 12-volume manga that ran from 2013 to 2018 in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine. That series inspired a 12-episode anime that premiered in July 2016, streaming on Crunchyroll. Kodansha USA Publishing handled the English releases, both digital and print.

Then came A Galaxy Next Door (Otonari ni Ginga), which launched in Good! Afternoon in April 2020 and concluded in May 2023. This one got the full multimedia treatment—a television anime premiered in April 2023, Crunchyroll streamed both the original Japanese with English subtitles and a full English dub, and a live-action series also premiered that same month. Kodansha USA published the sixth and final volume in July 2023.

Even as Yurayura Q wraps up its manga run, Amagakure isn't slowing down. The creator debuted a new manga titled Tomoshibi Kara Sparkle (The Sparkle From the Lamp) in Good! Afternoon magazine on April 7, proving that this creator has plenty more stories to tell.
