Sakamoto Days is barreling toward its end, and the timing feels huge. The manga has now entered its climax after kicking off its final battle in August 2025. That is not a quiet goodbye. That is a full-on collision, pues.

Yuuto Suzuki's series has been running since November 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump, after a one-shot titled Sakamoto appeared in Jump Giga in December 2019. Since then, the series has grown like crazy. It is published digitally in English by Viz Media and MANGA Plus, and Viz also handles the print edition.

A manga that turned into a full franchise

This thing did not stay on the page. It spread fast. A spin-off called Sakamoto Holidays launched in Saikyō Jump in July 2024, with Tetsu Ōkawa drawing it. On top of that, the main manga inspired two novels, one in April 2023 and another in December 2024.

And the anime? That machine is moving too. The first season premiered on TV Tokyo and related channels on January 11, 2025, and it also hit Netflix that same day. The second part of season 1 arrived in July 2025. The next season is already set for January 2027. Ojo, that is a long wait, but the fandom is clearly not backing down.

Big screen money and a loud response

The live-action film adaptation also joined the party. It opened on April 29 and was directed and written by Yūichi Fukuda, the same name behind live-action Gintama and Under Ninja. The film landed at #4 in its opening weekend. Not bad at all.

Here are the numbers, and they are solid: the movie sold 346,000 tickets and pulled in 478 million yen, which is about US$3.05 million, in its first three days. In its first eight days, covering the full Golden Week period, it reached 1.14 million tickets and earned 1.5 billion yen, or about US$9.58 million. That is serious heat, man. No cap.

What Sakamoto Days is about

The story follows Taro Sakamoto, once the most feared assassin in the business. Villains respected him. Hitmen knew his name. Then love happened. Retirement happened. Marriage happened. Fatherhood happened. And, sí, a few extra pounds happened too.

Now he runs a small neighborhood shop, looking like just another everyday guy. But under that calm face is a former legend who can still throw down hard when danger comes for his family. That mix of action and comedy is exactly why the series keeps grabbing attention.

Sakamoto Days is not just wrapping up. It is doing it with speed, style, and a lot of noise. And honestly, that fits the series perfectly.
