That is, until a royal decree changes everything. She's suddenly betrothed to the neighboring empire's so-called "Bloodthirsty Prince." Talk about a plot twist. J-Novel Club, which publishes the light novels and manga in English, frames this as a story of unexpected destiny. We're intrigued to see how this self-proclaimed ordinary girl navigates a marriage to someone with such a terrifying nickname.

The New Faces in the Cast

The story's journey is a modern tale itself. Author Almond first serialized it on the popular Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. However, they removed the story from the site in May 2022, a common move when a series gets picked up for physical publication. Earth Star Entertainment began publishing the light novels with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe in June 2021. The series wrapped up with its fourth and final volume in June 2023. J-Novel Club has released all four volumes in English for international fans.
