The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain Her Power Anime Announces Cast, June 30 Premiere
Meet Edward's brother and Carolina's knight as the 'black sheep' duke's daughter prepares for her royal marriage.

We have new details for the upcoming anime adaptation of The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain Her Power. The official website dropped a main key visual, a firm premiere date, and introduced two more voices joining the cast. For those who enjoy a story about an underestimated heroine with power she doesn't even realize she has, mark your calendars for June 30.
A Duke's Daughter and a Bloodthirsty Prince
Let's set the scene. Imagine being born into one of the most powerful families in the land. Your father is the prime minister. Your older sister is a magical prodigy, the nation's future Saint. And then there's you. Carolina, the overlooked daughter, has long accepted her role as the family's black sheep. She's resigned to a quiet life in their formidable shadows. That is, until a royal decree changes everything. She's suddenly betrothed to the neighboring empire's so-called "Bloodthirsty Prince." Talk about a plot twist. J-Novel Club, which publishes the light novels and manga in English, frames this as a story of unexpected destiny. We're intrigued to see how this self-proclaimed ordinary girl navigates a marriage to someone with such a terrifying nickname.
The New Faces in the Cast
The anime will introduce us to more of the people in Carolina's new world. The newly announced cast members are:
Atsushi Tamaru will voice Gilbert Ruby Martinez. He's Edward's older brother. We don't know much about him yet, but having an older sibling in the mix always adds a layer of potential drama or support.
Nobuhiko Okamoto joins as Owen Klein. He is the knight tasked with protecting Carolina. Given Okamoto's history of voicing energetic and often intense characters, we're curious to see if Owen is a stoic guardian or has a more fiery personality beneath the armor.
When and Where to Watch
The anime will officially begin its broadcast on June 30 at 10:00 PM on the AT-X channel in Japan. For those keeping track in other time zones, that's 9:00 AM EDT. It will also air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. The production is a collaboration between studios Magic Bus and Picante Circus.
The Creative Team Behind the Scenes
Directing the series is Mitsutaka Noshitani, whose recent works include The Strongest Tank's Labyrinth Raids. Handling series composition is Tōko Machida (Wash It All Away). Character designs are being crafted by Taihei Nagai, and the music score is composed by SUPA LOVE, known for work on series like Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It.
The opening theme, "Windmaker," will be performed by musical artist Kaya. The ending theme, "Unknown Me," will be performed by Utahime Dream All Stars. The titles seem fitting for a story about a girl discovering hidden aspects of herself.
From Web Novel to Print and Screen
The story's journey is a modern tale itself. Author Almond first serialized it on the popular Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. However, they removed the story from the site in May 2022, a common move when a series gets picked up for physical publication. Earth Star Entertainment began publishing the light novels with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe in June 2021. The series wrapped up with its fourth and final volume in June 2023. J-Novel Club has released all four volumes in English for international fans.
For manga readers, Yona Etou's adaptation began on the Comic Earth Star website in April 2022 and is still ongoing. So, whether you prefer novels, manga, or anime, there's a way to follow Carolina's story.
We're always excited when a new isekai-adjacent fantasy romance gets the anime treatment. The premise of a "black sheep" with untapped power forced into a political marriage has a lot of potential for both comedy and drama. We'll be watching to see if Carolina's obliviousness is her greatest weakness or her most surprising strength. The premiere is just weeks away.
