I Am the Only One Who Is Not Attacked in a World Full of Zombies Anime Reveals New Trailer, Cast, and Theme Songs

Sometimes an anime announcement lands like a door shaking in the middle of the night. Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai just did that with a new promotional video, a fresh visual, more cast members, and its theme song artists. The series is now set to premiere in January 2027, and it will air on AT-X.

The new video also lets you hear both theme songs. RetBear performs the opening track “No Reaction”, while Itsuka▶ performs the ending song “Tsukikage”. The music gives the project a sharp pulse, like footsteps echoing through an empty street.

New cast members join the zombie series

Two more voice actors have stepped into the story:

• Rikako Ito as Tokiko Kurose
• Marie Miyake as Sayaka Makiura

They join the previously announced main cast, which includes:

• Wataru Katō as Yūsuke Takemura
• Yuno Azuma as Mitsuki Fujino

What the anime is about

The setup is simple, but it bites. The world is suddenly overrun by zombies, and Takemura is the only one they do not attack. That alone already feels strange, cold, and heavy. In another kind of story, you would expect the hero to use that power to save everyone and push back against the chaos.

But here, he does not move like that. He follows his own desires instead. That twist gives the series a darker shadow, and it sets it apart from the usual survival path.

Staff behind the adaptation

The anime is directed by Kazuya Fujishiro at acca effe and Frontier Engine. Series composition is handled by Yasushi Hirano, with Kayo Shimoyama and Makuto Okimiru also writing scripts.

Other key staff members include:

• Tadashi Jinbo — sound director
• ISAO — music

It was previously announced for an earlier debut, but now the broadcast window has shifted to 2027.

From novel to manga and beyond

The original story by Rokuro Uraji began in January 2013 on the R18 version of Shōsetsuka ni Narō and ended in 2017. Later, Frontier Works published three novel volumes with illustrations by Saburō between 2016 and 2017.

The franchise kept growing after that:

• Chihiro Masuda launched the manga adaptation in June 2021
• The fifth manga volume shipped on August 5
• Robo Kondō launched the spinoff manga Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai Tokiko IF STORY in October 2025
• The spinoff’s first volume also shipped on August 5
