Yuuki Kanamaru resumes the More Than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers manga
Yuuki Kanamaru, author of Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman, resumed the work after a one-year hiatus

Indefinite hiatuses are always a bitter pill for the community to swallow, especially when they are linked to the health of the creators. Fortunately, today we have excellent news, as the talented mangaka Yuuki Kanamaru officially announced that she has returned to work to continue her successful romantic comedy More Than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers (Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman), after overcoming an extremely difficult personal period that kept her away from the drawing boards for more than a year.

Overcoming personal demons and the hiatus
For those who don't remember, the author entered an indefinite hiatus at the end of March 2025. At that time, she shared a very vulnerable message explaining that she felt as if "twins inside her head were fighting," which led her to make constant mistakes and prevented her from being at peace with herself. Fortunately, that dark stage seems to be behind her. On April 12, Kanamaru delighted the fandom by posting that she had just finished working on the script, playfully apologizing for not being able to show even a single glimpse to avoid annoying spoilers for the upcoming chapters.

Preparing the official return to the magazine
The response from fans was so massive and full of love that, the following day, the author confessed to being surprised and deeply grateful that her notifications had gone crazy. Although she is already actively working on the manga, she clarified that the exact date for the resumption of serialization will be decided soon after consulting with her editorial team, so it might take a bit longer to see the chapter officially published. However, she assured that she will continue to give her best effort in the preparations so as not to disappoint those who faithfully waited for her.
Knowing the immense pressure Japanese authors face due to strict deadlines, do you think publishers should normalize artists taking long breaks to look after their mental health before reaching a breaking point?
