It's time to say goodbye to the witch who maxed out without even trying. The manga adaptation of I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level is ending with its next volume.

The End Is Near

Volume 18 just dropped on Monday, and it brought the news: volume 19 will be the last. Yusuke Shiba's manga adaptation of Kisetsu Morita's light novel series has been running since June 2017 on Square Enix's Gangan Online website. That's eight years of chill vibes and overpowered witch antics.

Square Enix shipped volume 18 on August 11, 2025. The 19th and final volume will close out the story.

What's the Story About?

You know the drill. A woman dies from overwork and gets reincarnated as an immortal witch. She spends 300 years living a relaxing life, killing slimes to pay the bills. But here's the kicker: all those slimes pushed her to level 99. Now everyone wants a piece of her.

Crunchyroll describes it as "an at-home comedy about a powerful girl who doesn't work too hard!" Adventurers show up to duel her. Dragons challenge her. A monster girl even calls her mom. She just wants peace, but the universe keeps throwing chaos her way.

The Light Novel Already Finished

Morita launched the original novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in June 2016. SB Creative published the print volumes with illustrations by Benio. The 30th and final volume shipped on June 15, 2025. So the manga is just catching up.

The series ranked #9 in the 2019 edition of the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guidebook. That's no small feat.

Anime Seasons

The first anime season aired in April 2021. Crunchyroll streamed it and even dropped an English dub. The second season premiered in April 2025. If you haven't watched it yet, you're missing out on some quality relaxation humor.

So, one more volume and that's it. The slime-killing witch rides off into the sunset. Or maybe she'll just take a nap. That sounds more her style.
