Buckle up, because Toei Animation is hitting the reset button on World Trigger. They just dropped the news about a full-on "Reboot Project," and the teaser video already has fans losing their minds. This isn't just a new season—it's a complete do-over, starting from chapter one of Daisuke Ashihara's manga.

What's the Deal with This Reboot?

Think of it as a second chance to get it right from the jump. The plan is to re.adapt everything: the Border Enlistment Arc, the Large-Scale Invasion Arc, and the B-Rank Wars Arc. The staff is calling it a "powered up World Trigger 1st Season." Basically, they're taking all the experience from the previous runs and pouring it into a fresh, hopefully even more epic, version of the story we love.

The Dream Team is Back

The best part? The core crew is coming home. Morio Hatano is back in the director's chair. Hiroyuki Yoshino is handling the series scripts again. And Toshihisa Kaiya is returning to make sure all your favorite characters look perfect.

Even the voice actors aren't changing. The main squad from the previous anime is all returning. Hearing those familiar voices on a brand-new adaptation? That's the good stuff right there.

A Rocky Road for the Manga

Let's be real, the World Trigger manga has had a tough journey. It started in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2013, but went on a long hiatus in 2016 because of the author's health. It came back, moved to Jump SQ., and has faced more breaks since. The fact that we're getting this huge anime reboot shows just how strong and beloved this series really is. Volume 29 just came out in Japan last December, so the story is still going.

This Isn't the First Anime Rodeo

For the newbies, the original anime started way back in October 2014, with a sequel season in 2015. Seasons 2 and 3 aired in 2021, and you can find all of it (including dubs) on Crunchyroll. But this reboot is a whole new beast.

The series is so popular it even has stage plays! The fifth one just wrapped up this spring, adapting the "B-Rank Wars Final Match" arc. When your story is strong enough for live theater, you know you've got something special.

So get ready. The gates of Border are opening again, and this time, they're building them even bigger. Will you be there when the trigger pulls?
