Though I Am an Inept Villainess Anime Reveals Its First Trailer and New Cast
The palace intrigue anime reveals its first official trailer and confirms its delay to the July season.

Surviving the deadly intrigues of the imperial court is already an enormous challenge, but having to do so trapped in the body of your worst enemy raises the difficulty to the maximum. This Thursday, the first full promotional trailer was released for the anime adaptation of the historical fantasy and drama light novel written by Satsuki Nakamura, Though I Am an Inept Villainess (Futsutsuka na Akujo de wa Gozaimasu ga). The production committee used the video to confirm that, due to adjustments in the animation schedule, the series will delay its original April premiere and will begin its broadcast on Japanese television during the month of July via TV Tokyo.

The audiovisual material was accompanied by a significant wave of confirmations for the technical staff. Highlights include the participation of Kei Ishiguro in color design, Seina Yaguchi from the prestigious Studio Pablo in art direction, and Yukari Hashimoto in the composition of the immersive soundtrack. The editing team features the work of Mutsumi Takemiya, while Tohokushinsha Film Corporation is in charge of general sound production.
In addition to reconfirming the leads Manaka Iwami (Kou Reirin) and Natsumi Kawaida (Shu Keigetsu), the official statement revealed the new talents joining the main voice cast to bring the court figures to life:

- Yuichiro Umehara as Shin-u.

Satsuki Nakamura began publishing this fascinating story of political survival in novel format in December 2020. The narrative's resounding commercial success quickly caught the public's attention, rapidly driving the creation of a successful manga adaptation that is currently being serialized alongside the printed novels. The news of its arrival on television has kept fans of palace dramas and period tales in high anticipation.
