The Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None Anime Confirms Its Second Season

Being kicked out of the hero's party is a devastating blow, but proving to your former comrades that absolute versatility is the ultimate weapon is incredibly satisfying. Just moments after the broadcast of its twelfth and final episode on Japanese television concluded this Sunday, the production committee behind the anime adaptation of the fantasy light novel written by Itsuki Togami and illustrated by Yuri Kisaragi, Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None (Yusha Party o Oidasareta Kiyo Binbo), officially announced the production of its second season.

To celebrate the immediate confirmation of this continuation, both the writer and the illustrator of the original work shared special commemorative illustrations through their social media networks. As this is an extremely early announcement, the committee has kept the estimated release date and potential new voice cast members under wraps.

The successful first installment, which began its broadcast in January of this year, was developed under the animation of animation studio42. The main direction was handled by Hiroyuki Kanbe, while the scripts were supervised by Masashi Suzuki. Character designs were provided by Naoto Nakamura, accompanied by the immersive soundtrack by Tsubasa Handa. Musically, the series stood out for having an opening performed by the popular VTuber Tokoyami Towa and an ending by the artist Nowlu.

Itsuki Togami began publishing this story of self-improvement and adventure through web portals in February 2021. Its growing popularity caught the attention of the publisher Kodansha, which began publishing the work in physical format, recently reaching its ninth compiled volume. Simultaneously, the franchise features a solid manga adaptation illustrated by Yonezou that debuted in October 2021 and has just published its eighteenth volume this month. Altogether, the intellectual property has managed to surpass the overwhelming figure of 5.2 million copies in circulation worldwide.

The plot follows Orn, a young swordsman who managed to join the prestigious Hero's party, led by his own childhood friend, Oliver. With the goal of covering his companions' weaknesses and being more useful, Orn completely altered his fighting style, learning magic and creating unique spells to become vital support. However, his effort is repaid with betrayal when Oliver cruelly expels him from the group. His former allies mock him, labeling him a "jack of all trades, master of none" and replacing him immediately. Far from giving in to sadness and disappointment, Orn decides to embark on a new path as a solo explorer. Using his vast and underestimated combination of skills, he sets out to master every discipline to become the strongest and deadliest adventurer of all, proving to those who abandoned him the true power of absolute versatility.
