The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World Light Novels to Get Anime Adaptation
An exiled office worker summons a motorhome to travel and cook through a new world in this upcoming anime.

Being summoned to another world as humanity's great savior is an honor, but being immediately cast aside for having "useless" skills is a constant humiliation in the fantasy genre. Fortunately, for some protagonists, banishment is the perfect excuse to take a long vacation. This Wednesday, the anime adaptation for the isekai and slice-of-life light novel series written by Yoneori, The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World (Suterare Seijo no Isekai Gohan Tabi), was officially announced. The production company Happinet confirmed the project by releasing a first promotional image and ensuring that the series will premiere on Japanese television during this year.

The production of this relaxing gastronomic adventure is being handled by studio EMT Squared. The project's main direction belongs to Atsushi Nigorikawa. The overall scripts will be under the supervision of Takashi Aoshima, a writer with extensive experience in light comedies. The original art from the novels will be adapted for animation by character designer Izumi Ishii. Both the original author and the illustrators shared celebratory messages, highlighting their excitement to see the food dishes come to life on screen.
The initial announcement was accompanied by the reveal of the two main talents who will lead the series' voice cast:
- Sora Tokui as Rin Takanashi.
A voice actress internationally acclaimed by the otaku community thanks to her iconic role as Nico Yazawa in the Love Live! idol franchise.
- Yuki Ono as Vil.
A veteran and highly popular voice in the industry, globally recognized for voicing Taiga Kagami in Kuroko's Basketball and Josuke Higashikata in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
About the work
Yoneori began publishing the first chapters of this peculiar camping story through the independent web portal Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2019. Its relaxed approach caught the attention of publisher Kadokawa, who began releasing the story in physical format with illustrations by Akane Nitou in 2020. Its sixth compiled volume reached Japanese stores in May 2024. The franchise also features a successful manga adaptation illustrated by Nana Kogami on the ComicWalker platform, releasing its fourth volume this past May 2025.
Synopsis of The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World
The plot follows the life of Rin Takanashi, a thirty-year-old office worker whose greatest passion is solo camping and playing tabletop RPGs. Her routine changes when she is magically summoned to a fantasy world under the title of "Saint," alongside a beautiful high school student. However, the kingdom's prince checks her stats and determines that her unique skills, "Motorhome" and "Survival," are absolute garbage, banishing her from the castle instantly. Far from getting depressed, Rin discovers that her powers allow her to summon the recreational vehicle of her dreams. Free from royal responsibilities, she decides to embark on a peaceful road trip across this new world, camping, cooking delicious dishes, and meeting wonderful travel companions along the way.
Do you think the mix of modern camping elements, detailed cooking, and isekai fantasy will manage to stand out in today's saturated anime lineup?
