The Final-Boss Prince Is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me Anime Reveals First Trailer
The unusual romantic comedy about a reincarnated villainess and a yandere prince reveals its first trailer.

The fate of a romance novel villainess is usually sealed in blood, but when a reincarnated woman decides to change her tragic ending through sheer effort, the greatest danger isn't execution, but the suffocating love of a prince with yandere tendencies. During one of the special panels at the AnimeJapan 2026 event held this Friday, the production committee behind the anime adaptation of the popular manga titled The Final-Boss Prince Is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me surprised attendees by releasing its first video teaser. The long-awaited announcement was accompanied by a beautiful promotional image that previews the peculiar entanglements of this unusual romantic comedy.

To bring this unique story of survival and romantic obsession to the small screen, the project features animation production by Studio Lings. General direction is in the hands of Naoyuki Kuzuya, strategically supported by Shusaku Kato as assistant director. The narrative structure and series script composition are handled by Mitsuki Hirota, ensuring that the blend of comedy and tension remains intact. Meanwhile, the challenging task of adapting the physical evolution and charm of the main characters is the responsibility of the design duo consisting of Fumino Kakihata and Yukiko Sekita.
The teaser screened at the event also served to confirm the talented main voice cast that will lead this reincarnation adventure:
- Haruka Shiraishi as Celine Eldred.
The talented actress will voice the protagonist reincarnated in the body of a duchess destined to be the villainess, who struggles desperately to reform herself and change her tragic fate.
- Takeo Otsuka as Wilfred Percival.
The actor in charge of playing the handsome hero prince from the original story, whose personality hides a dangerous and intense devotion toward Celine.
About the work
This addictive story began as a manga series written by Kotoko and beautifully illustrated by artist Kaname Hanamiya. The work started its successful digital serialization through the popular web platforms Mecha Comic and Comico Japan in April 2023. Its overwhelming popularity among readers seeking isekai stories with an unexpected romance twist quickly caught the attention of publisher Kadokawa Shoten, which is responsible for the official publication of its printed volumes. This adaptation marks the first time that the peculiar and dangerous couple dynamic between Celine and Wilfred reaches television.
Synopsis of The Final-Boss Prince Is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me
The plot introduces us to a young woman who, after tragically passing away due to a serious illness, wakes up to discover she has been reincarnated within the universe of a famous fantasy novel. However, she is not reborn as the sweet heroine, but as Celine Eldred, the protagonist's older sister: a selfish, overweight duchess destined to be the absolute villainess of the story. Knowing perfectly well that if she follows the original script, she will be brutally murdered by the hero prince and suffer a miserable death, Celine vows to reform her life and her body with all her might. Determined to find her long-awaited "peaceful happiness," she begins to push herself to the limit to improve, but her sudden change in attitude causes a terrifying butterfly effect: the hero prince, Wilfred, falls madly in love with her, developing a sickly devotion. Now, Celine must survive not only her fate as a villainess but also the suffocating and obsessive love of a royal.
Considering that Celine is doing everything possible to distance herself from the dangerous prince to survive, do you think her attempts at rejection will only fuel Wilfred's yandere attitude even further in the series?
