The heartwarming anime about a school radio club confirms the production of its second season

The magic of late-night radio lies in its ability to connect lonely hearts through sound waves, and this comforting frequency is far from fading out. Just moments after the broadcast of its twelfth and final episode concluded on Japanese television this Tuesday, the production committee behind the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Masakuni Igarashi, Tune In to the Midnight Heart (Mayonaka Heart Tune), officially announced the production of its second season.
To celebrate the swift and exciting confirmation of this sequel, the franchise's official website released a special music video featuring the insert song "Yonagi," performed by the main cast, accompanied by recorded messages from the voice actors thanking fans for their support. As this is an early-stage announcement, the committee has kept the estimated release date for the new episodes under wraps.

The successful first installment, which began airing on January 6, 2026, was developed under the impeccable animation of studio Gekko. The lead director's chair was occupied by Masayuki Takahashi, featuring precise script structuring by Yukie Sugawara. The beautiful and expressive character designs were adapted by Tomoyuki Shitaya. In terms of music and sound production, the series shone brightly during the winter season thanks to its catchy opening performed by popular VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei and a nostalgic ending by the artist Soala.

The success of its recent television adaptation, broadcast on the late-night block of Kansai TV and Fuji TV, has drastically boosted sales of the printed compiled volumes, guaranteeing the franchise's animated continuity.
With the mystery of the original broadcaster still lingering, what kind of radio program would you like Haruto and the broadcasting club to produce during this second season to reach more listeners?
