The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2 Reveals New Trailer

This Monday, the main trailer was released for the second season of the anime adaptation of the romantic comedylight novel written by Saekisan, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsu no Ma ni ka Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken). The production committee confirmed through this video that the episodes will arrive on television next April 3rd.

The animated sequences brought musical updates for the project. Singer-songwriter Masayoshi Oishi will be in charge of performing the song "Kimi wa Koibito," a track confirmed as the official opening for this sequel.

The general production continues to operate within the facilities of studio project No.9. The technical team underwent changes in its main leadership, placing Chihiro Kumano in the director's chair to take over directly from Li Hua Wang. Keiichiro Ochi maintains his position structuring the series scripts. The original character designs by Hanekoto are once again adapted for animation by designer Takayuki Noguchi. The musical score falls once again to composer Moe Hyuga.

The announcement reconfirmed the main voice cast lineup in charge of bringing the tight-knit circle of students to life:

Voice actor internationally established after playing Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling.

• Manaka Iwami as Mahiru Shiina.

Acclaimed in the current industry for portraying the actress Akane Kurokawa in Oshi no Ko.

• Taku Yashiro as Itsuki Akasawa.

Famous for his roles as Gugu in To Your Eternity and Hirokazu Arai in Chainsaw Man.

• Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa.

Recognized among the otaku community for voicing Asirpa in Golden Kamuy.

About the work

Saekisan began publishing the drafts of this story of cohabitation through the website Shosetsuka ni Naro during December 2018. The success of the digital tale caught the attention of the GA Bunko label under the company SB Creative. The publisher released the first physical volume with illustrations by Hanekoto in June 2019. The commercial success of the novel format prompted a manga adaptation illustrated by Suzu Yuki, which has been serialized within the digital service Manga UP! since January 2022.

The plot follows the apathetic routine of Amane Fujimiya, a high school student living in complete disarray in his apartment. His next-door neighbor is Mahiru Shiina, considered the school's untouchable "angel" for her absolute beauty and academic excellence. Despite the physical proximity of their doors, they had never interacted. Everything changes one rainy afternoon when Amane lends her his only umbrella. Attempting to return the favor and cure the young man's cold, Mahiru decides to enter his home to take care of his meals and cleaning, starting a purely domestic relationship that will close the distance between them.
