Get ready for a wild ride, folks. The Tank Chair anime just dropped its main cast, and it's a lineup of heavy hitters. This adaptation of Manabu Yashiro's manga is gearing up to blast onto your screens this fall, and the vibe is pure, unadulterated action.

The Voices Behind the Violence

Bandai Namco Filmworks let the cat out of the bag with a character promo video. The leads? Only some of the biggest names in the biz.

Kōki Uchiyama is stepping into the role of Nagi Taira. Picture this: the strongest assassin, taking a bullet for his little sister. The cost? A coma. Now he's stuck in a wheelchair, but don't you dare think he's out of the game.

Playing that fierce little sister is Minori Fujidera. She's Shizuka Taira, and she's the one driving the whole operation. She's the "Tank Chair" assassin's partner, and she's got one mission—wake her brother up by throwing him into the deepest, darkest fights she can find.

The rivalry heats up with Gakuto Kajiwara as Naozumi Kurosaka. He was Nagi's old classmate, and let's just say he's got a serious chip on his shoulder. He's bringing the heat, and he's not coming alone.

Because his partner is his younger sister, played by none other than Saori Hayami. That's right, Touko Kurosaka is in the mix, and with Hayami's voice behind her, you know she's not just there for decoration.

The Machine of Mayhem

They also showed off the Tank Chair Mark-1. This ain't your abuela's wheelchair. This is the basic form of the combat rig Nagi rolls in. Think less hospital, more battlefield. It's sleek, it's mean, and it's built for one thing: taking out targets.

The Brains Behind the Operation

The team putting this together is stacked. Directing and writing the script are Tadahiro Yoshihira (Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars) and Hiroaki Ando (Kaina of the Great Snow Sea). They're working with the crew at Polygon Pictures.

Yūki Moriyama (Blame!) is on character design duty, making sure everyone looks sharp enough to cut glass. And the music? That's in the hands of Masaru Yokoyama. You know his work from bangers like Mashle and Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. The atmosphere is gonna be intense.

What's the Story?

Here's the deal, straight from the source. Shizuka takes the most dangerous assassin jobs. But she's not the trigger person. Her brother Nagi is, even from his comatose state. Shizuka figured out the secret: he needs to feel killing intent to wake up. So what's her solution? She puts him right in the line of fire, in a weaponized wheelchair, against the worst of the worst. It's a violent journey of recovery, mano a mano.

You can check out the manga in English thanks to Kodansha USA Publishing or on the K MANGA service. The series started in Magazine Pocket back in 2022 and jumped to Monthly Shonen Sirius in 2024. Volume 10 just hit shelves in March.

Mark your calendars. This fall, the chair hits the fan.
