Tank Chair Anime Confirms October 4 Premiere, New Cast, Theme Songs, and First PV

We finally have a clearer look at Tank Chair, and this one arrives with quite a package. The television anime adaptation of Manabu Yashiro’s manga has now revealed additional cast members, more of the main production staff, the theme songs, a key visual, and its first promotional video. In short: the engine is on, and yes, it sounds loud.

The series is set to premiere on October 4 at 11:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX. After that, it will also air on BS11, CBC, and MBS. That gives the anime a solid broadcast rollout right from the start.

A new batch of voices joins Tank Chair

The newly announced cast adds several recognizable names to the lineup. We can already imagine the recording booth: serious faces, intense lines, and at least one microphone wondering what it did to deserve all that action.

Theme songs set the tone early

The music side also received an important update. SiM is performing the opening theme, “DALALA”, while Daoko is handling the ending theme, “SYNC”.

The first promotional video already gives us a preview of the opening song, which helps establish the anime’s early identity. That first impression matters. Sometimes one opening track can tell us more about a show’s energy than a full page of production notes. And yes, sometimes we hear ten seconds and immediately think, right, this one means business.

The staff behind the adaptation

Tadahiro Yoshihira and Hiroaki Andou are directing and writing the script at Polygon Pictures. Yoshihira is also in charge of the series composition. Character design is handled by Yuuki Moriyama, while Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.

That core team already gives the project a distinct shape, but the newly revealed staff list shows how broad the production really is.

From manga launch to anime adaptation

The original Tank Chair manga by Manabu Yashiro began on the Magazine pocket platform in November 2022. Later, it moved to Monthly Shounen Sirius in November 2024.

On the publishing side, Kodansha released the manga’s 10th volume on March 26. The series also has an English release, with Kodansha USA having licensed it in October 2023 and publishing the 9th volume on August 11.

That publication pace shows that the manga has built enough momentum to support a larger push. An anime announcement can be exciting on its own, but when it comes with a growing catalog and international availability, the timing feels even sharper.

What stands out before the premiere?

At this stage, a few things stand out clearly:

• The premiere date is locked, so the countdown has properly started.
• The cast expansion adds weight to the project.
• The opening and ending artists give the anime an immediate musical identity.
• Polygon Pictures brings a production setup that could suit the series’ action-heavy style.

Now the next big question is simple: will the anime capture the same impact as the manga? That is the part no staff list can answer on its own. We will need to see how the action lands, how the atmosphere holds together, and whether the adaptation finds its own rhythm.

What do we think so far? The early materials give Tank Chair a strong launch position, and the first PV has done its job: it got attention. Now it needs to keep it.
