We love a good isekai story, especially when the protagonist is a giant skeleton with a heart of gold. We have been waiting for news about Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechū, and finally, the wait is over. Our favorite knight is polishing his armor for a new season this summer. It feels like only yesterday when we first met Arc and his fluffy companion, Ponta. Now, we are ready to dive back into their parallel universe.

Mark Your Calendars for July

We already have the exact dates for the Japanese broadcast. The second season of Skeleton Knight in Another World will officially premiere on July 4. It is going to be a busy week for fans. We will see the first episode on AT-X first, followed by streaming platforms like d Anime Store and ABEMA. If you prefer traditional TV, Tokyo MX and BS11 will start airing it on July 9. Isn't it exciting to have a fixed date to look forward to? We are definitely clearing our schedules.

Broadcast Schedule at a Glance

  • July 4: Premiere on AT-X, d Anime Store, and ABEMA.
  • July 6: Repeat broadcast on AT-X (just in case you missed it!).
  • July 9: Debut on Tokyo MX and BS11.
  • To be announced: Premiere date for Sun TV.

New Faces Behind the Scenes

We noticed some interesting movements in the production team. While Katsumi Ono returns to direct the series at Aura Studio, other departments are seeing fresh talent. We think these changes will bring a new spark to the animation. For example, Toshizo Nemoto is taking over the series scripts. If you enjoyed his work on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, you know we are in good hands. Humor is essential in this show, and we hope the new team keeps the jokes landing perfectly.

We also have Chisa Shibata joining as the sub-character designer. Jia Fang Lu is the new art director, and Harue Ono will handle the color key artistry. It is like a puzzle where some pieces change, but the final picture remains just as beautiful. We are curious to see how the visual style evolves under this new leadership. Will Arc look even more imposing? We bet he will!

The Journey So Far

We remember the first season fondly. It premiered in April 2022 and quickly became a fan favorite. Crunchyroll brought the adventures of Arc to international audiences, even providing an English dub for those who prefer it. The story of a gamer waking up as his avatar is a classic trope, but Skeleton Knight in Another World adds its own unique flavor. We are ready for more monster designs by Yoshihiro Nagamori and the immersive soundscapes directed by Satoshi Motoyama. Are you ready to join the quest again?

We want to know what you think about these changes. Do you believe a new scriptwriter will change the vibe of the show? What are your expectations for the second season?
