Rent-A-Girlfriend Reveals Trailer and Official Premiere Date for Its Fifth Season
The romantic comedy anime reveals a new preview focused on the Hawaii arc.

This Friday, a new trailer was released for the fifth season of the anime adaptation of the romantic comedy written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima, Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu). The production committee released a promotional image to accompany the announcement and confirmed that the new episodes will arrive first on the DMM TV service next April 8, jumping to Japanese television a couple of days later.

The video material brought with it several musical updates. The sequences allowed hearing a fragment of the song "Non Scenario Etude". This track will serve as the opening of the season and was written, composed, and performed by the voice actress herself Sora Amamiya. On the other end of the format, the rock band NAKIGOTO will take the reins of the ending with the theme titled "204-goshitsu".
Details of Rent-A-Girlfriend
This fifth installment technically functions as the second half of the previous season. The studio TMS Entertainment maintains total control of the animation to give visual continuity to the project. They placed Kazuomi Koga again in the main director's chair to adapt the anticipated Hawaii arc. The creative team will seek to resume the story exactly where the first part of this stage concluded at the end of September last year without losing the pace.
About the Work
Reiji Miyajima began publishing this story in the pages of the magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine under the support of the publisher Kodansha in July 2017. The work built a fairly solid reader base that justified its jump to television in July 2020 with its first season. The commercial performance of the franchise drove the creation of multiple animated sequels over the years and even managed to finance an adaptation to a live-action television series that premiered in mid-2022.
Synopsis of Rent-A-Girlfriend
The narrative closely follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a quite immature university student. After being dumped by his first girlfriend after just a month of relationship, the young man decides to use a girlfriend rental app out of pure frustration. There he hires the services of Chizuru Mizuhara, an extremely professional and attractive girl. What started as a simple hourly contract quickly gets out of control when a medical misunderstanding forces them to fake a real relationship in front of their respective families.
Do you think that the level of personal development of the protagonist has improved throughout the last seasons?
