Experience is a teacher that rarely takes a day off. After decades watching the industry shift from hand-drawn cels to polished CG idols, we have learned that some legacies are built to last. The Pretty Series is one such titan. What started as a simple arcade game in 2010 has blossomed into a multimedia ecosystem that refuses to slow down. We have seen the rise of Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt and the era of PriPara, and now a new chapter is ready to take the stage. Onegai AiPri (Please AiPri) has officially stepped into the light, revealing its visual identity and the voices that will carry its melodies.

The New Generation of Idols and Staff

The machinery behind this production is substantial. We are looking at a collaboration between OLM and Dongwoo A&E, two studios that understand the rhythm of idol animation. Direction duties are shared by Jun'ichi Fujisaku and Masahiro Matsunaga, while the series scripts fall under the pen of Gigaemon Ichikawa. It is a team that knows the Pretty Series DNA like the back of their hand. The character designs, originally by Hiromi Nashimoto, have been adapted for the screen by Manabu Nii, ensuring the aesthetic remains sharp and modern.

The cast list brings together a mix of fresh energy and established talent. We have Hanaka Ogawa taking the lead as Inori Konomi, supported by Rika Kanaya as Aoi Yumemiya. Other key performers include Wakana Maruoka (Gumi Tomosaka), Haruka Okamura (Olivia Y&umacron;ki), and Minori Fujidera (Nana Atami). This ensemble is tasked with bringing a new level of charisma to a franchise that has already conquered the hearts of fans for over fifteen years. Statistics show that the Pretty Series maintained an uninterrupted broadcast history for 11.5 years until 2022; we are witnessing the continuation of a marathon, not a sprint.

A Story of Wishes and Talking Toys

The narrative follows Inori Konomi, a first-year middle school student who has recently relocated to the town of Onegai. In a move that feels like classic magical girl tradition, Inori offers a prayer to a goddess statue in the town square. She wants to be an AiPri. Destiny, apparently listening, introduces her to the famous idol Aoi Yumemiya and a peculiar talking stuffed toy named F&omacron;ch&umacron; (voiced by Y&omacron; Taichi). It is the typical "right place, right time" scenario that fuels most of our favorite shoujo dreams.

F&omacron;ch&umacron; is on a quest for an idol capable of granting wishes. When Inori opens a special mirror pact gifted by Aoi, the transformation begins. It is a metaphor for the industry itself: sometimes you just need the right accessory to unlock your potential. The music will be handled by Izumi Mori, with the opening theme "Onegai AiPri!" performed by Onegai Kanae-tai and the ending theme "H&omacron;kago no Onegai!" by Iginari Tohoku San. We expect these tracks to be stuck in our heads for the foreseeable future, much like a stubborn piece of gum on a Murcia sidewalk.

Broadcast Details and Franchise Timeline

We can confirm that Onegai AiPri will debut on April 5 on TV Tokyo and its affiliates at 9:30 a.m. JST. For those who prefer the digital route, streaming will be available on Lemino and Anime Times via Amazon Prime Video in Japan starting April 12. This release follows the momentum of Himitsu no AiPri and its subsequent Ring-hen arc. Clearly, the producers believe in keeping the iron hot.

The Pretty Series has a track record that would make any executive smile. From the four seasons of Kiratto Pri☆Chan to the experimental Waccha PriMagi!, the franchise has consistently evolved. We are also looking forward to the theatrical release of Eiga Himitsu no AiPri Mankai Bazulium Live! on March 13, which should serve as a perfect appetizer for the new television series. If you have been following these idols since the 2010 arcade days, you know the drill. If you are new, welcome to the glittery madness. Keep an eye on the April premiere and prepare your glow sticks.
