Marriage Toxin Anime Reveals Second Trailer and Theme Songs

Finding true love is an extremely complex mission, but when your entire life has been dedicated to the dark art of assassination and poisons, getting a blind date becomes a survival challenge. This Monday, the production committee behind the anime adaptation of the popular manga written by Jomyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, Marriage Toxin, released its second promotional trailer. The electrifying video preview served to officially confirm that the series will begin its broadcast on Japanese television on April 7 through the new late-night programming block "Ka-Anival!!" on Kansai TV and Fuji TV.

In addition to showing new sequences of frantic action, the promotional video revealed the project's main soundtrack for the first time. Fans were able to hear a snippet of the opening titled "Kill or Kiss," performed by artist Yurina Hirate, as well as the rhythmic ending "Shake Na Baby," by singer-songwriter AKASAKI.

The complex task of animating the fast-paced combat choreographies and romantic comedy was left in the hands of studio Bones Film, operating under the direct supervision of the legendary studio BONES. The director's chair is occupied by Motonobu Hori, while Kimiko Ueno is in charge of the series composition and script structure. The original designs are being adapted for animation by Kohei Tokuoka, who also serves as the chief animation director. The frenetic sound department is a joint work of composers Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi.

Jomyaku and Mizuki Yoda joined forces to begin serializing this explosive deconstruction of romantic comedies through Shueisha's popular Shonen Jump+ app in April 2022. The undeniable chemistry between its protagonists, combined with the ingenious battles between different specialized assassin clans, catapulted the work to the top of popularity. The commercial success of the print format will allow the release of its seventeenth compiled volume in Japanese stores on April 3, just in time to celebrate the television debut.
