Asumadre! The world of romance and bad boys is about to get a serious upgrade. We just found out that Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent (also known as Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun) is officially jumping from the pages to the TV screen. Pucha, we were waiting for some good news to brighten the week and Naruki-sensei really delivered. This story is like a roller coaster: one second you are calm and the next you are flying through the air because of a misunderstanding.

A peaceful life that is quite a chamba

Our protagonist Momose just wanted to survive high school without any drama. She is the type who avoids trouble like it's a cold soup. But life is funny, isn't it? She meets Ichikura, a guy who looks like the perfect student with his black hair and neat glasses. Mostro, right? Well, not really. Behind those lenses hides a former legendary delinquent who used to break heads for breakfast back in junior high. Keeping that secret is going to be a real chamba for poor Momose.

What makes this story special?

  • The contrast between the nerdy look and the thug soul.
  • Momose's desperate attempts to stay away from trouble.
  • The constant fights Ichikura gets into despite "trying" to be good.
  • The beautiful commemorative illustration Naruki shared on X/Twitter.

From the manga pages to the animation studio

The manga started its run in Bessatsu Friend back in January 2021 and it has been a hit. Kodansha is about to drop the 11th volume this May, and honestly, we are already hooked. Seven Seas Entertainment and K MANGA have been doing a great job bringing the English version to us, so there is no excuse not to be up to date. The anime adaptation is the cherry on top of this spicy sundae. We still don't have a release date, but the hype is real, guys.

Do you think Ichikura can really leave his violent past behind or is he just one bad day away from a total meltdown? We honestly think the glasses are just a disguise to keep his inner beast contained. If you love stories where the "good boy" is actually a dangerous delinquent, you need to keep an eye on this one. Don't forget to follow the official updates so you don't miss the first trailer!
