We love unexpected friendships. Imagine walking into a cursed forest and finding a giant snake woman who just wants to hang out. That is the heart of Reiwa no Dara-san. We finally have a full trailer and a release window for this peculiar story. The mountain is calling, but it is not as scary as it looks. We are ready for a mix of folklore and everyday chaos.

A Trailer Full of Scales and Dancing

The first full trailer is here. It shows us the Misogiya siblings meeting the legendary Dara-san. She is a god of misfortune, but she seems more worried about her image than about cursing people. We also got a preview of the opening theme, "Dara Dara♡Dancing". It is performed by the main cast and even the narrator. It is catchy, it is fun, and it perfectly captures the bizarre energy of the series.

As girls from Madrid, we appreciate a good party, and this song sounds like one. Mutsumi Tamura voices the titular Dara-san. She brings that perfect balance of intimidation and awkwardness. Joining her are Minami Tsuda as Hinata and Momoka Terasawa as Kaoru. They are the brave children who decide that a giant snake lady is the perfect new friend. Who needs normal pets when you have a mythical entity?

The Team Behind the Curse

We know who is pulling the strings behind the scenes. The production looks solid and full of talent. Here is the main staff list:

  • Director: Tadato Suzuki at Asahi Production.
  • Character Design: Koichi Kikuta (famous for his work on KONOSUBA).
  • Music: Rei Ishizuka.
  • Music Production: Lantis.

Having the designer from KONOSUBA is a great sign. We can expect expressive faces and hilarious visual gags. The contrast between the dark atmosphere of the mountain and the silly behavior of the characters is what makes this manga special. We can't wait to see it animated in July.

From Twitter to the Small Screen

The journey of Reiwa no Dara-san is quite a story. Haruomi Tomotsuka started drawing this on X (Twitter) back in 2019. It grew so much that it went from Comiket self-publications to Kadokawa. Now, it is a full-blown TV anime. It is amazing how a simple sketch of a snake woman can turn into a global phenomenon. Yen Press is already handling the English volumes, so there is no excuse to miss out on the lore.

The story starts with rain, a landslide, and a broken fence. It sounds like a horror movie, right? But then Dara-san starts complaining because the kids aren't scared enough of her "grotesque visage". It is comedy gold. We love a monster with an existential crisis. It reminds us that sometimes, the things we fear are just looking for a bit of company and a place to belong in the modern era.

Are you excited to see this giant snake lady in action this summer? Let us know what you think!
