Bunny Garden 2 sweeps sales and dominates Steam and Switch in Japan
Bunny Garden 2, the long-awaited romance sequel, reached the top of the sales charts on Steam and Switch.

Fans of dating simulators and virtual romance have a new undisputed king in the market. This April 16, 2026, Japanese developer qureate officially launched Bunny Garden 2, the highly anticipated sequel to its acclaimed romance game. Within hours, the title skyrocketed to the top of the charts, reaching the coveted number one spot in sales in Japan on both the PC platform via Steam and the eShop of the popular hybrid console Nintendo Switch.
New minigames and waifus to conquer
The essence that fans fell in love with in the first installment remains intact, allowing players to develop deep relationships with the girls of an exclusive gentlemen's club. However, the sequel comes loaded with juicy new features, highlighting the introduction of three new waifus and a massive expansion of ASMR immersive audio mechanics. Among the most acclaimed additions are the new minigames, such as the suggestive "Blind Man's Bluff" game that utilizes spatial audio so players can feel the girls chasing them, as well as feeding games and a fun version of the traditional karuta card game with rather naughty rules.

Overwhelming success surpassed censorship
The most surprising aspect of this sales achievement is the impressive performance it had on the Nintendo console. Although this version underwent some modifications and restrictions regarding suggestive poses, facial expressions, and camera controls to comply with platform regulations, Japanese fans did not hesitate to take it to the top spot of the My Nintendo Store. Meanwhile, the uncensored version on Steam remains strong in the fight for the top, temporarily sitting in second place only behind the titanic launch of Pragmata.
Seeing the overwhelming success that these experiences focused on interaction and immersive audio continue to have, do you think more developers will start betting heavily on ASMR technology in their upcoming romance games?
