The plot follows the unfortunate adventures of Sakuya Otsuki, a high school student who dreams of becoming a brilliant detective to honor his famous father's legacy. In his quest for the truth, he works side-by-side with his intelligent and sarcastic assistant, Lilithea. However, Sakuya has a lethal problem: he is the world's worst detective in terms of survival. Every time the boy infiltrates a crime scene or begins investigating an important case, he ends up being murdered almost immediately by the culprit. Fortunately for him, he possesses the inexplicable ability to revive after each homicide. Once he wakes up, he must join forces with Lilithea to deduce who killed him and solve the central case before the cycle repeats.
