100 Girlfriends Anime Season 3: Release Date, New Characters & What to Expect
The chaotic harem returns! Meet Rentaro's newest destined soulmates when the anime premieres this July.

You feel that electric shock, the one that tells you your soulmate is standing right in front of you. Now imagine feeling it one hundred times. That's the impossible, hilarious, and heart-pounding reality for Rentaro Aijo, and his story is racing back to your screen. The third season of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You has officially locked in its premiere date: July 5. Mark your calendar. Clear your schedule. The love tsunami is coming.
New Faces, Same Chaotic Love
Three new heroines are stepping into Rentaro's overflowing heart. The key visual introduces them, and each one feels like a different flavor of sweet chaos.
Your new additions to this legendary roster are:
Yamame Yasashiki: The gentle giant of the gardening club. Can her green thumb handle a love that grows a hundredfold?
Momiji Momi: A third-year junior high student. Young love meets cosmic destiny—what could possibly go wrong?
Kishika Torotoro: The fierce president of the girls' kendo club. Her sword might be sharp, but is her heart ready for a battle against ninety-nine other rivals?
Just looking at them, you know their confessions are going to turn Rentaro's world upside down... again. And they aren't the only ones. The season also welcomes Rentaro's cousin, the steadfast first-year class president Chiyo Iin, voiced by Kaori Ishihara. Then there's Nadi, the Japanese language teacher who rocks a cowboy hat and star-spangled scarf, brought to life by Ayana Taketatsu. The family reunion and the wild west are officially part of this love polygon.
Why You Can't Look Away
Remember the premise? It's the hook that sinks deep. Rentaro faced rejection a hundred times, only to learn it was all a cosmic mistake. A god decided to fix it by giving him one hundred destined soulmates. The catch? If he doesn't return each girl's feelings, they will meet a tragic end. It's a romantic comedy that plays with life-and-death stakes, turning every blush and every confession into a pulse-pounding moment.
You watch because you have to know: How can one boy navigate this? The series takes the harem genre, stretches it to its absolute limit, and then injects it with pure, unadulterated heart and humor. You laugh at the absurdity, but you also feel that genuine bolt of lightning each time Rentaro locks eyes with another "the one."
The Team Behind the Chaos
The familiar crew is back to orchestrate this symphony of romantic pandemonium. Director Hikaru Sato returns at the helm of Bibury Animation Studio. Scriptwriter Takashi Aoshima is once again crafting the hilarious, heartfelt scenarios. Character designer Akane Yano ensures every girl is as uniquely charming as the last. And the music team of Shūhei Mutsuki, Shunsuke Takizawa, and eba at Lantis will provide the soundtrack to Rentaro's ever-complicated life.
It premieres on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m. JST on July 5, also airing on Sun TV and BS11. Just like the previous seasons, Crunchyroll will be streaming it with subtitles and an English dub as it airs in Japan. Get ready to hit "play" the moment it drops.
The Story Continues Beyond the Screen
This whirlwind began in the pages of Weekly Young Jump in December 2019, courtesy of Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa. The manga is still going, though it's currently on a slower pace due to Nozawa's maternity leave. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English version, with volume 18 slated for June 23. If the anime's weekly dose isn't enough, you know where to turn to binge the source of all this beautiful madness.
So, are you ready? July 5 is the date. Your summer is about to get a hundred times more interesting, more chaotic, and more full of love than you ever thought possible. The countdown to the next confession starts now.
