Hana ni Kamiguse Manga Ends on April 3: Nakayoshi Confirms Final Chapter Date
Kotoko Ichi’s high-school romance Hana ni Kamiguse (Flower Biting Habit) is closing its run after just over two years and four volumes

You know that feeling when a sweet romance starts hitting different… and then boom, it’s already ending? Yeah, that’s Hana ni Kamiguse (Flower Biting Habit) for you.
Hana ni Kamiguse is officially ending
The April issue of Nakayoshi announced that Hana ni Kamiguse will end in the magazine’s next issue on April 3. That’s it. Final chapter. No “maybe later.”
If you’ve been following week to week (or month to month), this is your “ponete vivo” moment. Catch up now or you’ll be the chero asking for spoilers after it’s done.
What the story is about (and why it hooks you)
The manga follows Suu, a second-year high school student who just wants a normal, fulfilling school life with friends. Simple dream, right?
Then life says: “Nah.”
A mysterious, beautiful boy named Yuki shows up with amnesia, and Suu’s whole world flips. If you need a quick example: it’s like you planned a calm lunch… and someone drops a whole drama combo meal on your table.
Release notes: volumes and pace
Kotoko Ichi launched Hana ni Kamiguse in February 2024. The series is ending a little over 2 years later, which is a pretty tight run for a shōjo title.
Kodansha shipped the 4th compiled volume on December 12. That’s four volumes in roughly two years—about 2 volumes per year. Not a slow crawl, not a sprint. More like that steady “I’m going, but don’t rush me” vibe.
Other manga from Kotoko Ichi (quick recap)
If you’re thinking, “Ok, and now what do I read?” here’s the map:
Kaoru Watashi ni Kiss Shite. ended in August 2023. It started in March 2022, and reached 7 compiled volumes (the 7th shipped in December 2023).
Senya no Kiss de Kimi wo Koroshite (I'll Kill You With a Thousand Night's Kisses) began in September 2021 in Kadokawa’s Asuka magazine.
Stellar Witch LIP☆S (Majo Kaitō LIP☆S), created with Hana Kagami, ended in June 2021. It ran from October 2019, and finished with 5 volumes (final volume shipped in July 2021). Kodansha USA Publishing has it available digitally in English.
So yeah—April 3 is the finish line. Read it, re-read it, and brace yourself. Because endings hit hard, cipote.
