Maintaining public interest in a single feature film for nearly a year is an unusual feat in the competitive Japanese box office. Breaking revenue records during that period turns it into a cultural phenomenon. Distributors confirmed that the first anime movie of the final trilogy based on Koyoharu Gotoge'sshonen, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, will end its theatrical run in Japanese cinemas on April 9th. To commemorate the end of this stage, theaters will provide collectible cards featuring illustrations from the credits to attendees who go to see the film during these final weeks of availability.

Details of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle

The visual weight of this massive production fell entirely on the animators at Ufotable. Haruo Sotozaki led the project in the director's chair. Akira Matsushima oversaw the fluidity of movement as chief animation director and adapted the character designs for the big screen. The tense sound atmosphere within the labyrinth was composed by the duo of Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina. The committee also kept the main voice cast intact, which has accompanied the franchise since its television beginnings:

  • Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro Kamado.

An actor recognized worldwide for portraying Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul and Falco Grice in Attack on Titan.

  • Akari Kito as Nezuko Kamado.

The unmistakable voice behind Tsukasa Yuzaki in TONIKAWA and Suzune Horikita in Classroom of the Elite.

  • Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma.

A recurring voice in the industry who brought Connie Springer to life in Attack on Titan and Dabi in My Hero Academia.

  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira.

Internationally famous for his starring role as Kirito in the extensive Sword Art Online franchise.

  • Toshihiko Seki as Muzan Kibutsuji.

A historical figure in the voice acting industry, remembered by millions thanks to his role as Iruka Umino in Naruto.

About the work

The film originally landed in Japanese theaters on July 18, 2025. Its impact on ticket sales shattered initial projections, grossing over 39.7 billion yen locally. This figure allowed it to surpass the classic film Spirited Away and rank as the second highest-grossing film in the country's history, sitting only behind the Mugen Train feature film from the same franchise. Globally, the project sold over 89 million tickets and became the first Japanese animation to cross the 100 billion yen mark in worldwide revenue. The title reached screens in Latin America during September of last year.

Synopsis of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle

The narrative marks the beginning of the definitive climax between the demon slayer organization and the Upper Moons. Tanjiro Kamado and the rest of the Hashira suddenly fall into a dimensional trap orchestrated by the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji. The warriors are isolated within the Infinity Castle, a massive underground fortress that completely defies the laws of physics and gravity. In this completely hostile terrain, the protagonists are forced to push their breathing techniques to the absolute limit to survive ambushes and defeat the deadliest enemies in existence.
