Recording videos exposing the rarest human secrets has just become a television business. The publisher Shogakukan, through its iconic magazine Coro Coro Comics, officially confirmed that the comedy manga created by Satoshi Kisaichi, Black Channel, will receive its own anime adaptation in a TV series format. The announcement published this week was accompanied by a special commemorative illustration drawn by the author to celebrate this leap into the big leagues of commercial animation.

A mystery in the recording and production booth

Since the announcement is in an early stage of development, the committee in charge of the series decided to keep their cards close to their chest. The official statement omitted any details regarding which animation studio will take on the project, the name of the director in charge, or the main voice cast. Fans will have to wait for upcoming reports in the magazine to discover which actors will take the microphones and whether the project is scheduled for release in late 2026 or next year.

The successful leap from YouTube to broadcast TV

This franchise is no stranger to trying its luck in video format. Since its debut in print in 2020, its popularity quickly earned it an adaptation in the form of YouTube shorts that same year. Even its spin-off published in 2022, Breaking The Wall, received its own animated web miniseries as soon as its publication ended. With 13 compiled volumes currently on the market, the natural step to ensure the franchise's longevity was to bring its content directly to Japanese television programming.

What exactly does this demon record in the human world?

The plot puts us in front of the lens of the demon Black, an entity who decides to leave his realm to travel to the human world with a very clear objective: to obtain video content that is genuinely interesting. Always accompanied by his faithful tool and assistant, a camera demon known as Camera-chan, Black dedicates himself to finding and exposing the most hidden facets of people's hobbies, games, and daily routines. What for humans is a simple hobby they prefer to keep private, for this demonic duo is the perfect material to achieve a resounding success in views.

Knowing that the manga has been documenting human pastimes for over five years, do you think the television format will bet on adapting chapters from volume one or will they go directly for original stories created specifically for the anime?
