Umineko no Naku Koro ni unfolds on the secluded, storm-lashed island of Rokkenjima, the private estate of the fabulously wealthy Ushiromiya family. Their annual gathering, centered on the ailing patriarch Kinzo's inheritance, takes a sinister turn when a violent typhoon cuts off all escape. The family soon finds itself ensnared in a deadly game as a mysterious entity, the Golden Witch Beatrice, declares her presence.
