After briefly returning to their ordinary lives in Tokyo, the three Magic Knights—Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu—are summoned back to the world of Cephiro by a desperate plea. They discover a realm in chaos, its stability shattered after the loss of its Pillar. Monsters roam freely, and the once-beautiful land is decaying.

Guided by the mage Clef, the heroes learn that Cephiro's crisis has attracted the attention of three powerful invading nations: Chizeta, Fahren, and Autozam, each seeking to control the Pillar system for their own ends. Furthermore, a sinister new foe, the enigmatic Lady Debonair, emerges with her own claim to the throne. The Magic Knights must now defend Cephiro from these external and internal threats while holding onto the hope of finding a new, worthy Pillar to restore peace.

This anime masterfully expands its magical world, exploring themes of responsibility, sacrifice, and the complex consequences of power, all while delivering thrilling mecha-fantasy action and deepening the bonds between its iconic heroines.
