In the town where books are cherished, high school student Mifuyu stands out for one reason: she hates books. Despite being descended from a long line of book collectors and living in the shadow of her great-grandfather's famous library, Mikura Hall, Mifuyu wants nothing to do with the literary world.

When a thief triggers an ancient curse by stealing from Mikura Hall, Mifuyu is forced to confront her aversion. To save her town from magical doom, she must enter the very stories she despises and reclaim the stolen books. With the help of the mysterious Mashiro, she embarks on a journey through fantastical narratives, where each book presents unique challenges and revelations.
