In the world of Dragon Ball, a chance encounter changes the life of a naive but incredibly strong boy named Son Goku. He meets the brilliant inventor Bulma, who is on a quest to collect the seven legendary Dragon Balls, magical orbs that can summon a wish-granting dragon. Goku possesses one of these balls, leading him to join Bulma on a whimsical and perilous global adventure.
The anime follows Goku's journey of growth, not just as a martial artist training under masters like the eccentric Muten-Roshi, but as a person. He and his ever-expanding group of friends face colorful villains, compete in the World Martial Arts Tournament, and repeatedly defend the Earth from those who would misuse the Dragon Balls' power.
