Chao Shen Youxi is an anime that begins with a seemingly ordinary school day. Three friends decide to skip class and head to an Internet Cafe, only to be caught by their diligent female class monitor. While one returns home, the other two encounter a mysterious, alluring shopkeeper who sells them a strange game CD.

Upon starting the game, they are suddenly and violently transported into its digital world. The anime follows their struggle to survive and understand this new reality, where the lines between game and life are permanently blurred.
