The Fable Anime Confirms Second Season for the Yamaoka Arc
The story of the hitman trying to be a normal citizen will continue with the adaptation of the Yamaoka arc.

Living as an ordinary civilian can be much more complicated than completing a contract killing, especially when the past refuses to stay buried. Japan's deadliest hitman is ready to resume his "normal life." This Thursday, the production committee behind the anime adaptation of The Fable officially announced that a second season is already in production. This new installment will adapt the acclaimed Yamaoka arc from the original material, continuing the story following the 25 episodes aired during 2024.

The production of these new episodes will maintain the technical consistency of the first installment, confirming that director Ryosuke Takahashi will return to lead the project at the same animation studio. The announcement also ratified the return of the main voice cast, ensuring that the voices that brought the characters to life in the previous season remain present in this new story arc:
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Akira Sato (Fable).
The talented actor reprises his role as the legendary hitman who desperately tries to fit into society without using violence.
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Sato.
The renowned voice actress returns to play Akira's bold and expert partner, who pretends to be his sister during their sabbatical year.
- Kana Hanazawa as Misaki, Akio Otsuka as Boss and Tetsuo Komura as key supporting characters.
A group of experienced voices that complete the social and criminal environment surrounding the protagonist's new and unusual life.
About the work
Author Katsuhisa Minami is responsible for creating this fascinating criminal world through his original manga, which was published between 2014 and 2019 in Kodansha's Young Magazine. The work stood out for its unique blend of tactical realism, absurd comedy, and human drama, gaining a massive fan base in Japan. After finishing the main story, Minami launched a direct sequel that remains in publication to this day. The anime has managed to capture that unique essence, becoming a critical success for its balance between choreographed action scenes and hilarious moments of everyday life.
In this second season, the plot delves into the Yamaoka arc, an extremely dangerous and manipulative individual linked to the protagonist's past. Akira will face much more personal and dark challenges that will test his promise not to resort to violence, while he tries to protect the precarious peace he has managed to build among ordinary people.
Considering that Akira is forbidden from killing during his sabbatical year, do you think Yamaoka's arrival will finally force him to break his promise of peace to protect his new friends?
