Ready for Magic? The Shonen Fairy Tail Confirms New Chapters After Years of Waiting
Hiro Mashima's legendary work will celebrate two decades with brand-new chapters, events, and figures.

The dragon's fire burns brighter than ever to commemorate two decades of pure magic. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the iconic Fairy Tail franchise confirmed the return of its story to the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine with a short, concentrated serialization. These highly anticipated unreleased chapters will officially debut in the magazine's combined 36/37 issue, scheduled for August 5, 2026.
Accompanying this major announcement, mangaka Hiro Mashima shared an emotional promotional video and published a message of gratitude, highlighting that having the opportunity to temporarily revive a finished work is only possible due to the unconditional support of the readers. True to his tireless style, the author claimed to be "fired up" to lead the festivities, which will include a national tour of in-person signing events across five of Japan's major cities: Hokkaido, Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

Commemorative events, figures, and episodes on YouTube
The manga industry and animation studios have prepared a massive rollout to extend the celebration throughout the year. Starting April 11, 2026, all 328 episodes of the original anime adaptation will begin streaming for free every Saturday morning via the Anime Times YouTube channel. Additionally, a traveling art exhibition featuring original illustrations has already begun its tour across the country, organized by Art Biban Co., Ltd.
In the realm of exclusive merchandise, Sega's Yumemirize brand announced the release of a highly coveted prize figure for arcade centers featuring Erza Scarlet in a bunny suit. This collectible, standing 19 centimeters tall, will be available in late October 2026.

The inexhaustible magic of Fiore's most destructive guild
Originally published between 2006 and 2017, this pillar of the shonen genre follows Lucy Heartfilia, a young Celestial Wizard who fulfills her dream of joining the powerful and ever-boisterous wizards' guild, Fairy Tail. Alongside the impulsive Fire Dragon Slayer Natsu Dragneel and a group of colorful companions, Lucy travels the kingdom taking on high-risk missions, facing dark creatures, and forging unbreakable bonds that surpass any dark magic.
