Otaku Love: Hunter x Hunter Creator Pays Tribute to His Wife
Togashi finished Hunter x Hunter chapter 430 and celebrated with Sailor Moon art.

If there is one mangaka who has the entire world holding its breath with every publication, it is definitely Yoshihiro Togashi. The legendary creator of Hunter x Hunter has just given us another shot of hope by confirming that he has finished inking the characters for chapter 430 of his work. But this time, he didn't just upload the classic, boring numerical sketch on his whiteboard; the author gifted us a spectacular crossover and a super sweet message of love directed at his wife, the one and only Naoko Takeuchi, creator of Sailor Moon.

The ultimate crossover between shonen and shoujo
In the beautiful illustration that quickly broke the internet, we can see Kurapika sharing space with two icons from his partner's magical universe. On one side is the cat Artemis, drawn as a traditional lucky figure with a coin that says "Thank you," and on the other, Sailor Mars appears holding an amulet with her birthday date. In his post, Togashi openly confessed that he is receiving a lot of strength from his wife to keep going with his demanding work. Furthermore, he didn't miss the chance to sneak in a couple of references using hashtags about NASA's current lunar mission and the new theatrical show of the magical franchise in Tokyo.
Shonen Jump has the last word
Although the manga is technically still on an indefinite hiatus, knowing that this genius continues to make progress from the shadows is music to the fandom's ears. Togashi took the opportunity to remind his followers that he already has the material ready for publication from chapter 420 onwards, so the ball is now in the court of the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial department, who must announce the long-awaited official return date. Seeing this golden couple of the manga industry supporting each other after so many years of marriage is something that simply restores our faith in love.
What did you think of this incredible visual nod between two of the biggest franchises in history, or when do you think the publisher will finally release the new chapters?
