We just got some exciting news from the anime world! Kodansha announced that Haruka Kawachi's beloved josei manga Namidaame to Serenade is getting a television anime adaptation. And guess what? It's scheduled to premiere in 2027!

What's This Manga All About?

Imagine this: rainy days, mysterious dreams, and a trip back in time to 1907. That's exactly what happens to our protagonist Hina Katagiri.

She's just a regular high school student until she finds herself inexplicably transported to the backyard of a mansion. The resident, Takaaki Hongou, mistakes her for his fiancée Hinako Kitamine. And Hina, thinking it's all a dream, plays along with the misunderstanding.

But here's where it gets really interesting: when she meets the real Hinako, she realizes she's actually traveled back in time! And to make matters more complicated, she's lost her precious heirloom necklace at Takaaki's house.

The Romance and The Dilemma

With Hinako's help, Hina continues to pretend to be her to get access to the Hongou household. But things get messy when she starts developing real feelings for Takaaki.

Meanwhile, the way back to her own time becomes increasingly uncertain. Talk about a complicated love triangle across time!

Manga Background

The manga ran in Kiss magazine from November 2014 to November 2025. Kodansha published the 13th volume in April 2025, with the 14th and final volume coming on February 13.

We're talking about a proper josei romance that's been building its fanbase for over a decade!

What We Know So Far

The announcement came with a special illustration drawn by Kawachi herself. While we don't have details about the studio or cast yet, the 2027 premiere gives them plenty of time to get everything right.

Time-travel romances always have that special charm, don't they? The historical setting mixed with modern sensibilities creates such interesting dynamics.

We're particularly curious about how they'll handle the Taishō-era aesthetics and the emotional weight of Hina's impossible situation.

Mark Your Calendars!

2027 might seem far away, but good things come to those who wait. This gives everyone plenty of time to catch up on the manga before the anime drops.

What do you think about this announcement? Are you as excited as we are about this time-travel romance coming to life?

Don't forget to check out the official website and manga special site for updates! And tell us - will you be reading the manga first or waiting for the anime?
