Mark your calendars, cheros. The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince is finally making its way to PC via Steam on March 11. NIS America just dropped the news with a fresh trailer that’ll give you all the feels.

A Fairytale Born from a Contest

Here’s the cool backstory. This whole magical adventure started as a simple idea from a female web designer at Nippon Ichi Software. She submitted it to the company’s annual "Nippon Ichi Kikaku-sai" event in 2017, where they pick one concept to become a full game. It won, and look at it now! This contest has birthed other gems like htoL#NiQ -Hotaru no Nikki- and Yomawari: Night Alone. Talk about a lucky break!

What’s the Game About?

Imagine this. A lonely wolf sings a hauntingly beautiful song in a dark forest. A curious little prince from a nearby kingdom hears it and gets obsessed. Every night, he sneaks into the woods to find the source. But one night, he startles the wolf. In a moment of pure fear, she lashes out with her claws... and accidentally blinds the prince.

Now, the blind prince has to journey through a forest full of danger to find a cure. And the wolf? Filled with guilt, she uses her magic to transform into a beautiful princess to guide him. She can switch between forms to protect him from the horrors of the "all-seeing forest." It’s a story of sacrifice, deception, and redemption. Can a blind prince trust a liar princess with his life? You’ll have to play to find out.

A Journey Across Platforms

This isn’t the game’s first rodeo. Nippon Ichi Software first launched it in Japan back in May 2018 for PS4, Switch, and PlayStation Vita. Then, NIS America brought it to the West in February 2019 for PS4 and Switch. Fans in the U.S. even got a fancy "Storybook Edition" with a physical copy, a book, a soundtrack, and a collector’s box. By May 2020, it had also hit iOS and Android. But PC players have been waiting. The wait is almost over, mi gente.

Why You Should Care

This game is more than just a pretty art style. It’s a puzzle-platformer with heart. You control the princess, solving environmental puzzles and using her wolf form to fight monsters, all while guiding the vulnerable prince by the hand. The emotional weight is heavy. One wrong move and it’s game over for the little guy. It’s tense, beautiful, and utterly unique. If you missed it on consoles, now’s your chance to experience this modern fairytale on your own terms.

So, set a reminder for March 11. The forest is waiting, and this story is one you won’t want to miss.
