Finally: The Detective Is Already Dead returns with a spectacular trailer for its second season
The second season delays its premiere until October, but makes up for it with a preview and a game.

The legacy of the world's most brilliant detective is far from fading away. The highly anticipated animated adaptation of The Detective Is Already Dead (Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru) resurfaced this Sunday with bittersweet surprises for its fans, revealing its first trailer and a new promotional poster for its second season.


Although the return was originally planned for July, the production committee confirmed that the series will move its premiere to the Fall season, officially arriving on Japanese television in October 2026. However, the teaser compensated for the wait by introducing Noches, an enigmatic character who looks identical to the late Siesta and wears a striking maid outfit. As if that weren't enough, the franchise confirmed it is developing its first video game for Nintendo Switch in collaboration with developer Taito Games.

Production Details of The Detective Is Already Dead
The anime industry once again trusts Studio ENGI for the animation of this story filled with mystery and action. Director Manabu Kurihara takes the reins of the project once more, supported by Deko Akao supervising the scripts and Yosuke Ito in charge of character design.
Voice Cast
To maintain the magic of the first season, the committee secured the return of the main seiyuus, adding a dual role for the lead actress:
- Saki Miyashita as Siesta / Noches.Known for rising to international fame with the iconic role of Siesta, as well as voicing Shion Tsuji in Girlfriend, Girlfriend.
- Arata Nagai as Kimihiko Kimizuka.An emerging actor who has consolidated his career giving life to the faithful and trouble-magnet assistant in this franchise.
- Ayana Taketatsu as Nagisa Natsunagi.The legendary and unmistakable voice of Nino Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets and Azusa Nakano in K-ON!.
- Kanon Takao as Yui Saikawa.Famous for playing Iris in KonoSuba and Hina Tsurugi in Houkago Teibou Nisshi.
- Saho Shirasu as Charlotte Arisaka Anderson.Notable for voicing Mio Kofune in the acclaimed Summer Time Rendering.
