The secret of the girl who came from the year 1974
The original novel was conceived by author Akiko Abe, recently achieving a manga adaptation under the Shueisha publishing label. The premise follows Kazuki Tsukigase, a boy who decides to transfer to a high school on a secluded island with the sole purpose of moving away from his past and anyone who knows him. His self-imposed exile changes radically when he explores a particular inlet that locals associate with mysterious disappearances.
In this remote place, Kazuki finds the unconscious body of a young girl. Upon waking, she shows a severe case of temporal amnesia; the only thing she can articulate is that her name is Nao, she is 16 years old, and she repeatedly whispers the year "1974". This chance encounter triggers a race against time to discover her identity before the temporal anomalies take their toll.
What theory do you have about Nao's origin and her strange temporal link to the seventies?
