The wait is almost over. After conquering theaters, the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is heading to our screens at home. Crunchyroll confirmed it will add the film to its catalog this spring, available both subtitled and dubbed. So if we missed it in cinemas — or simply want to relive it — the moment is coming.

A box office beast before hitting streaming

Let's talk numbers, because they're impressive. The film premiered in Japan on September 19 last year and immediately claimed the number one spot at the box office. It didn't stop there.

After 103 days in theaters, it crossed the 10 billion yen mark — roughly $63.7 million. The franchise's official accounts celebrated the milestone on December 30. Not bad for a story about a guy who turns into a chainsaw, right?

Sony Pictures Entertainment handled the global theatrical distribution, ensuring the Bomb Girl reached audiences worldwide.

What is the Reze Arc about?

Produced by studio MAPPA, the movie follows Denji as he continues his chaotic life as a devil hunter in Special Division 4. Things take a turn — both romantic and dangerous — when he meets Reze, a café employee he runs into while sheltering from the rain after a date with Makima.

We won't spoil the rest, but let's just say: nothing is ever simple in Denji's life.

The voice behind Reze

The titular character of this arc is voiced by Reina Ueda, known for bringing to life:

  • Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
  • Ganyu in Genshin Impact

Her ability to portray characters with a soft exterior hiding complex depths makes her a perfect fit for Reze.

The Chainsaw Man franchise keeps growing

The movie isn't the only thing we should keep our eyes on. In December 2025, it was reconfirmed that the next manga arc — the Shikaku Arc (Assassins Arc) — has an anime adaptation already in production. The machine doesn't stop.

For context, Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018 and has surpassed 30 million copies in circulation. It has also won the Harvey Award for Best Manga three consecutive years, cementing itself as one of the most influential titles in the medium today.

So, are we looking at one of the defining anime franchises of this decade? The numbers certainly suggest so.

Will you be watching the Reze Arc on Crunchyroll, or did you already catch it in theaters? Let us know!
